To advance the health and welfare of aquatic animals in aquariums and zoos globally
The Aquarium Vet provides on-site visits as well as telephone and email support to public aquariums, ornamental fish importers, zebrafish facilities, aquarium retailers and universities throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Dr Rob Jones, with 19-plus years of experience in the aquarium industry, and his two associates Dr Brett DePoister and Dr Luke Ross are the only veterinary practice in Australia dedicated to aquariums.
The Aquarium Vet has developed the first online course for aquarists, the E-quarist CourseTM, which was launched in 2011 and is now studied by students on six continents.
The Aquarium Vet E-quarist Course is recognized as a Learning Partner by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
The Aquarium Vet is now regularly holding E-conferences. The first E-lasmo Conference was held in April 2020. The Aquarium Vet in conjunction with Dr. Tim Miller-Morgan, lead for the Oregon Sea Grant-Aquatic Animal Health Program, is very proud to announce the first E-Aquarium Conference. With the cancellation of most aquatic conferences globally this year, we have decided to provide an E-conference for all aquarium enthusiasts.
Dr Rob Jones and Dr Jon Daly have been researching elasmobranch reproduction since 2004. In particular, they have been developing the use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in elasmobranchs. They have now launched the Elasmobranch Reproduction Resource Centre (ERRC) to assist with the dissemination of information.
The Aquarium Vet is dedicated to advancing the health and welfare of aquatic animals in aquariums and zoos globally. This is based upon our four pillars of care:
